Persuasion

You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope.
Why see Persuasion?
A brand new adaptation
Jane Austen's final completed work comes to the stage in this exciting new adaptation from Iowa Stage Company's Kerry Skram. Updating the story from the 1830s to the 1920s, enjoy this story of self-possession, acceptance, and love in a whole new setting.
Following Anne Elliot, an overlooked member of her own family, and her chance meeting with a long-lost love, it's Austen at her most fierce, witty and wonderful.
What is the story?
At the grand old age of 27, Anne Elliot is the black sheep of her well-to-do family, overlooked by her vain father and sisters. Having turned her back on her only chance a love some years previously, she is shocked to find herself once again in the company of her former flame - Frederick Wentworth, who has now risen to Captain in the Navy. Their shared past roils beneath them as they meet again in new circumstances. Will either say anything before it's too late? Watch on to find out.
